Volunteer with us!

CTA Members volunteering at our Art Fair.

There are several fun volunteer opportunities to work a shift or two during The Art Fair. The CTA membership tent is just one of them!

The success of the Cherokee Triangle Art Fair is because of our artists and volunteers. In addition to our long-time Art Fair committee volunteers, and the CTA Board of Trustees… we also need volunteers from the neighborhood and community! Whether you’re a member of the CTA, or a Cherokee Triangle resident (homeowner or renters!), High-schooler needing service hours, or maybe you’re just an Art Fair loving Louisvillian who wants to be involved with this event and community- – we would love to have you as an CTAF volunteer! It’s a great way to meet new neighbors and see the CTA (and the neighborhood) in action.

Association Tent:  You’ll be representing the Cherokee Triangle Association and supporting Art Fair attendees with logistical information about the Fair and general information about the Cherokee Triangle Association (1 person).  You’ll also help with merchandise and membership sales. This is a great opportunity to meet the artists and interact with neighbors.

1-2 people must be 21+ years in order to check IDs and distribute bracelets for fair attendees who want to purchase alcoholic beverages. Ability to use an iPad is required. CTA members are given first priority. Some standing required.

Plant Sale: You will be working with other volunteers at the beloved, neighborhood plant booth. You will help fair attendees with plant and flower purchases. This job requires experience with using an iPad and exchanging money. Some standing and light lifting is required.

Beer Truck: Assist the CTA with beer truck sales and serving draft beer to patrons. You’ll also be required to check IDs and administer wrist bands. Must be at least 21+ years of age and have experience with an iPad and exchanging money. Standing required.

Traffic Control: You will be stationed at street closures to re-direct and stop cars from entering during Friday set-up or during fair hours on Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers can sit during this job.

Food Concessions: You will be part of a busy team preparing and selling grilled brats, hotdogs, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages within the food court. You may be asked to help grill or run orders. This job requires experience with using an iPad, ability to communicate and collect payment from customers, and help restock things as needed. You’ll be standing and moving around the majority of your shift.

Friday Set-up: Art Fair Set-up (at least 2 shifts, 2 people per shift) requires volunteers to help locate and move items around the event location, and/assist in setting up tents for artists. This is a great opportunity to meet the artists and your neighbors.

Cherokee Roundabout Cafe: You’ll be a part of a team, selling wine and Mimosas at the round-about located at Cherokee Road and Cherokee Parkway. This job requires experience with using an iPad. Must be 21 years of age or older. You will be expected to check IDs and distribute bracelets for fair attendees who don’t already have one and are wanting to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Sunday tear-down: Assist other volunteers with breaking down tables, small tents, and helping pack and load supplies at the various CTA run booths. Light bending and lifting is required. This is a fast paced shift but you often get the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary brat/hot dog and adult beverage.
